Hermitage Square Apartments

Lived here for about half a year now, Moved from New Jersey to work in DC (law enforcement.) Everyone at my job also moved to Maryland for work and I can tell you I got the best deal out of everyone with Hermitage Square Apartments. The location is in a great crime free area with lots of natural scenery, neighbors are nice & respectful, front office Esmerelda is always on top of whatever issues come. Rent is at an affordable rate + best of all the apartments are awesome, each unit comes with an open kitchen, island included+ balcony with a great view and you get the most square footage 800 minimum for your money. Anyone complaining about living here will really complain about anything anywhere they go. I almost didn't want to write this review because this place is the best kept secret. I

The office staff is helpful & professional as they try their best to be accommodating . The response for maintenance needs is usually on time. One of my issues is with laundry because tenants are sometimes not responsible in removing their clothes in a timely manner. We did have a roach & mice infestation at one time, however management & tenants worked diligently to correct the issue. Each week we had exterminators come in the apartments to eliminate the “free tenants”. My other issue is with the limited parking & the high fee even if I wanted to pay for an assigned place. It’s hard to go out or come home late because most likely the only parking spaces available are far away from your apt. Still safer to park in the complex though. Gates Hudson is the management group. Tried to call to ask some questions before inquiring about availability. I think a bot answers the emails as it answered some questions but not others (not programmed for those ones). Tried calling like they asked me to do in the email just to be met with voice mail only. I will say this first. Brenda, Esmerelda, Derwyn and Dana are the best! They go the distance to be courteous and professional. Whenever I call or leave a message they are on top of it no matter what it is. I will be happy when they can replace the rest of the bldg windows though. This is not on them though, this is the Group Ownership that needs to have this done immediately, heat goes out the window in the winter, while cold are comes in and the AC goes out windows in the summer, while the heat comes in, there is condensation on the windows . I have no rodent or insect problems and everything else is clean and as safe as it can be in this community. I have been living here for almost two years and I am very happy that I picked this place for me and my son. The apartment was given to me looking brand new, no smells, no bugs, laundry on each building. Everything is always clean and organized, when I need help from the leasing office they are always willing to help and in my experience they are very friendly and welcoming. Neighbors are nice, I have had no issues with noise, or people outside doing stuff they shouldn't be doing. Prices are very good, and everything is nearby, plus they are 3-4 buses running around the area. All in all I recommend living here.
