Hearthstone Village - Senior Living

Once you move in they never make upgrades in your apartment and when you ask they say they will update the apartment for the next tenant. Th annual increases are insane $150.00 a month more every year. The owners are greedy! Keep in mind this an over 55 community and tenants are on fixed incomes. Additionally my mom was in hospice which is the only reason we did not move her. My mother was there for 8 years and they never did one thing to up grade the apartment. She has old linoleum flooring. The cheapest carpet they could find. The dishwasher has been broken for years. The kitchen counters are outdated. Now that she has past they have to do the upgrades for a ground level 1 bedroom out dated apartment that cost $1840.00 a month. They also had the nerve to tell me that when the lease

My dad lives here. A very nice place, lots of activities like Bridge, Poker, Bingo, etc. They have a pool with water aerobics, yoga classes, painting, baking. About twice a month they have a lunch or dinner at the clubhouse. Many times there is age appropriate entertainment. They run a bus to the Racino about twice a year, a bus for the Christmas lights in Washington Park, and outings for theater. Every Friday is movie day, popcorn is provided. The staff is top notch. Residents don't need to do any maintenance, but they do have space for a garden. Garages are available. One of the nicer places for seniors to reside when they no longer need their house. The residents are friendly and it's easy to make new friends there. They have a van and driver, you can go grocery shopping once a week, o
