Haxall View Apartments

I have lived in several units in Haxall View, all on the older side of the complex. When I first moved in, back in 2021, the apartment was lovely, but management was really chaotic and unreliable. Since then, things have improved tremendously (although they still need to find a better, more permanent solution for securing mail - driving to their Fulton office to pick up packages is a hassle, and impractical for things that arrive on the weekend). As mentioned in other reviews, Bill is the primary point of contact for maintenance, and he is awesome. The 1-bedroom units on the older side have a surprising amount of storage, and the electric bills were very reasonable. I have lived here for over seven years and love it. The interior brick and pine floors in the old building units, along with spacious storage, and nice community spaces make it a great place to be. Location is wonderful, near to the canal and river paths, restaurants, and shops. Management are helpful; Bill, who manages maintenance issues, is exceptional. Bill ensures issues are resolved not only quickly but also thoroughly, always offering a kind word and a smile. Neighbors have been great as well.

My girlfriend and I have lived here for 3 years and it’s been awesome! The location is great, walking distance to Browns Island and only 2 minutes from the river. The rooftop communal space and outdoor common area are fantastic. All of my neighbors are friendly. Bill and the other maintenance staff are extremely helpful and responsive. Bill always puts a smile on my face, he’s been super reliable with any questions or concerns and is quick to respond. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance, I recommend Mr Miyabi or Station 2. I’m very pleased that we found this apartment and highly recommend it if you’re looking to live in the city.

The older sections of Haxall have as much character as they do space. Hardwood floors, exposed beams and brick plus 2000+ sq ft in an apartment is unheard of in this city. Management has been somewhat of a revolving door but Bill the maintenance man is the MVP of this place. Responsive, timely, generous & always looking to help out the residents when he can, it’s nice to have that level of attention/care after having lived in the River Lofts. The area is , well the area. You live in Richmond , in shockoe none the less so city life will do city life things. Only time I had my car broken into was when I left my doors unlocked. Haxall View is the second apartment complex I've lived in, in Shockoe Bottom RVA and it is a night and day difference. I had horrible experiences in my previous apartment, but living here has been awesome. I have no complaints whatsoever. The prices are extremely reasonable for what you are getting in size and quality. We are going on our third year renting here and the rent increase is only about $40/per year which is almost unheard of in RVA recently. The maintenance of this building is superb. I always see Bill working outside, picking up trash that is in the streets surrounding our building. He goes above and beyond for the tenants who live here. We've had a few appliances go kaput on us over the years and as soon as we put a work ticket into the system, Bill is on it that day.
