Haven at Brunswick

Haven West, or Jones Street residential is one of the worst things to happen to this area, they bought out the apartment I live in and have raised the rent over 50% in 5 years. They claim this is purely market driven but they have bought most of the market in this area and inflated 40 year old apartments naval base housing to the price of the brand new building they put up. Expect very minimal snow cleanup, ice on the roads, and a Management group that does not negotiate.

I haven't ever had a good working relationship with building maintenance until now. Even before I moved in I was asked if there was anything they could. Now I understand that what I was about to ask wasn't important or a big deal in the grand scheme of things but would make my life much easier. I asked them to change the way my refrigerator doors swung. The next time I walked in it was done. I will not have any apprehension when needing to talk with them for any issues in the future. My apartment is nice and fresh. The grounds are cleaned and we'll maintained. I'd like to say thank you to all of the staff for the help and the ease of moving. It's already hard enough as it is. And P.S. They are even helping me set up my washer and dryer.

Beware of Disappearing Reviews and Dwindling Satisfaction If you're considering renting at Haven West, be prepared for a hefty price tag, a cramped living situation, and unreliable internet. Many of the units remain unrented, for good reason. The layout: The financial burden is outrageous. With an eye-watering $4000 deposit, what do you get in return? A living space that is not only smaller than advertised but also lacks a proper living room. The cramped hallways, sharp corners, and impractical layout make it feel like you're living in a poorly designed maze. My partner and I frequently have to “take turns” navigating the hallways / the kitchen as there isn’t enough room to pass side by side. The kitchen, touted as a functional space, is disappointingly tiny and has a single basin sink.

These New York hedge fund owned property management companies are soulless entities incapable of meeting the needs of our community and its families. The terms of our lease state that it becomes a month to month when it expires, management choose to almost double the month to month rent to 4300$ in hoping that we would sign on for a longer term lease renewal option for less, they didn’t give us a proper notice nor does it represent the terms outlined in their own lease. They’re assuming Mainers are ignorant of their own laws. This isn’t New York City folks, the terms they’re demanding don’t allow mid coast Maine families to live with dignity, with the holidays coming up we’re reminded that the economy has truly bailed on the needs of the community. While the units themselves aren't bad, the management of this place could use a lot of work. Some units have a washer/dryer unit installed, while ours does not, yet we pay the same price (which, by the way, is not cheap). Communication with the office has been difficult and disorganized, and on occasion we have been given false information, particularly regarding applying to live in other areas within Brunswick Landing Venture. One person will tell us that putting in a transfer request is easily doable online, when in reality the option does not exist from what we can tell. When my wife and I visited the office to figure out how to progress, their front desk walked away from us.
