Granite Peak Management

Although this review of Rachel Lyons of Granite Peak Management is wildly overdue, my boyfriend and I have been singing her praises since moving to Truckee in October, as we are so impressed with her professionalism, kindness, and perspective. Rachel was quick to respond to our inquiry of rental, accommodated our schedule, worked with the home owner, and negotiated a satisfying contract for all parties involved. In addition to her mad skillset, she is light, lovely, and fun to work with. We are both counting our lucky stars that Rachel came into our lives. If you have the opportunity to work with her, do not hesitate.

Kiersten manages the HOA I was renting. I had issues with moving my car for the plow because I was a first emergency responder with the power company in Tahoe, Liberty utilities. When I brought to her concerns about being cited by the HOA for times that were inaccurate or it didn’t even snow the day or or before, she completely ignored it. She was rude and acts like a typical “Karen”. People like her should be held accountable and it’s no wonder this place has only 3 stars.

We booked a rental in Tahoe with this company in July. When we arrived to the rental, the blinds did not pull down across the entire living room, dining room, and kitchen space. It’s the middle of summer with temperatures in mid-90s, so we could not use most of the living space. When we asked the company for help to repair it, they told us they *already* knew the blinds were broken, however, they failed to mention this to us before we booked our 5-day stay. The company refused to send anyone to help and told us to use sheets on the windows. Separately, we had a cold draft each night because the master bedroom window also didn't close, plus it was loud every night outside which would have been fine but the open window let all the sound in. The company didn't respond to our request for help

We rented a place through this company in Tahoe in July. When we got to the condo we discovered that the blinds didn't work - this was the middle of summer in Tahoe - so it meant we couldn't use most of the living space. The company refused to send anyone to help and suggested we use sheets on the windows. We also couldn't close the master bedroom window, this meant there was a cold draft each night and it was loud due to local nightlife. The company didn't even respond to our request for help on this. We later learned they were short staffed. We asked for a 50% refund which seemed reasonable after all this drama but they refused. Would never work with them again.

Rented a vacation home through AirBNB managed by Tahoe Vacation Rentals. The service and experience was grossly unsatisfactory; non-working plumbing that spewed water when in use and a disgustingly dirty and non-working hot tub, which was an important amenity for our trip. After spending $1400 and complaining about the condition and malfunctioning equipment, we were offered a $40 refund which is wholly inadequate considering our spend and the distance we drove to enjoy a cabin with family. Our family, friends, and business colleagues will be sure to never rent any property managed by this service; slow to respond and conspicuously and simply does not care.
