Givens Highland Farms

My grandmother moved here about 2 years ago. She is so happy and is so pleased with the place. It makes my family and I feel good to know this! My dad, who lives nearby in Black Mountain, is also very pleased with the establishment and the staff. He comes once a week to teach the residents drumming and he adores it. It's like one big family! I hear the executive director is very caring and genuine. They even stayed there during the hurricane to be sure the residents were in good hands. Thank you Highlands for taking such great care of my grandma and the rest of the community. 🙏🏼

I just visit grandpa and is very sad to see how this place has change so much. Attached you can see some of the old chair in the main eating area where this old folks have to struggle to seat. I was afraid it was going to be get broke and grandpa has to suffer an accident. Food was terrible! it look like a year old frozen fish that I couldn't eat! but the worst was the room we stayed ( more expensive then any hotel)had dust every where, dirty sheets and I could lock the patio door because the lock was broke....

Good luck calling with a simple question. Staff is rude and condescending, reflective of how predatory this place is for seniors. Do not send your loved ones here

Since the beginning, our experiences at Givens Highland Farms have been amazing. The staff is wonderful-our needs and requests are addressed quickly and efficiently. We can’t begin to commend them enough-compassion and kindness are top priorities with them. The residents are incredibly lovely people with very interesting life stories. We are so happy and carefree-living in this beautiful setting with gorgeous mountains surrounding us. Waking up each day realizing we get to choose how we enjoy the day with many great opportunities available. We have one regret-we wish we had made the move a couple of years earlier.

Givens Highland Farms attracted me and my wife because of the rural nature of the campus and choice of available residences. The openness and beauty of the landscape as well as the gentle slopes of the streets and walking trails made us feel like we have space to roam. As second-generation residents (my wife's mother lived here for 15 years) we were familiar with the personal relationships that develop between staff and residents - most staff make it a point to learn your name. We have found it refreshing to know that we can participate in as many or as few activities as we desire. While some amenities have been affected by construction (wood shop and greenhouse), others have been accommodated in temporary spaces at other places on campus until construction is complete.
