Geerhouse

Geerhouse has been a wonderful place to call home in a rising part of Downtown Durham. I’ve lived in many places across the country and this staff (shoutout Jillian for the tour and signing) is the most pleasant, caring and personable crew I’ve met. Maintenance is always so courteous and helpful with requests and the building is miraculous. With Nectar cafe in the lobby, wide open common spaces and a shaded courtyard leading straight to the gym, I couldn’t imagine a better place to live in Durham. The big windows grant amazing natural light and it just feels good to be in the living room! Walkability is great and I’ve loved stepping out the door to head to the farmers market on Saturday mornings or walking up to Carolina theatre for a movie screening on a weekend. This building is truly impressive. Simba provided an excellent tour, demonstrating both enthusiasm and extensive knowledge. He patiently answered all my questions and showed me every unit I requested. The two months of free rent is a significant benefit. Simba's positive attitude and helpfulness are strongly influencing my decision to move here.

We lived at Geerhouse for 6 months and had a wonderful experience there. The staff (shout out to Jillian, Simba, Mike, and Robbie) were absolutely fantastic. They were responsive to all our needs and questions and always friendly, which made living there feel like home. The amenities were well maintained and there is also a really cool coffee shop in the lobby (also with great staff). The building is a little bit away from the center of town, which we liked, but still really walkable to everything. Overall, we loved the building and the people and already miss our time in Durham!

I am fortunate to call Geerhouse home! Throughout the leasing process, Jillian was incredibly helpful considering I was moving sight unseen across a number of states. She was always responsive to my questions/comments and her positivity shined through. Shout out to Simba as well for his help during move-in and for always being a pleasure to chat with--and props to them both for coordinating fun community events. The facilities are kept clean and well-accommodating for the building. Parking is affordable, but spots can be tight. Having Nectar, TaTaco, and MotorCo on the ground floor are both an incredible plus.

This building leaves 6+ dumpsters of trash on a street with multiple businesses, that they blocked out the sunset from, to help gentrify the city with overpriced apartments. City is know for brick manufacturing and they go with a zero drip ugly modern white and black steel crate vibe.. they have a whole open natural light lobby with fake plants lol The private trash pickup they use clogs the street three to four times per week, It is such a bad look for the city. This was a great spot for free parking before they built this and changed they entire vibe of the area.
