Forest Court Apartments

I’m writing this review to share my experience and help prospective renters make an informed decision. Based on my time in this building under Akelius management, I found it extremely difficult to live in and often felt unsafe. I’ve lived in older and multi-unit buildings before, but none had issues comparable to this one. Key issues during my lease included: Apartment not move-in ready (multiple broken or poorly functioning appliances) Extreme noise transfer that disrupted sleep for months Over $700 in stolen packages and belongings from within the building Ongoing safety concerns and frequent police presence Regular construction with little or no notice Slow or no response from management Shortly after moving in, management informed me that some tenants were already involved in eviction

Do not move here. Worst housing experience I’ve ever had. And Akelius management could not care less about your safety. This wasn’t just a bad experience, it was unsafe. They allowed drug selling and usage inside the hallways of the apartment building and never did anything about it. I’m talking about crack being smoked, people shitting on the floors, your bike having stuff stolen off of it from the storage basement. Your upstairs neighbor may very well be a squatter and will make your life hell. Couldn’t work there, couldn’t sleep there, and ended up ending our lease 6 months early to move out. Worst apartment and management team I’ve ever experienced.

Avoid at all costs. Terrible, non-existent property management. Takes months to fix necessary things like a dishwasher or HVAC system. Basement has been broken into several times now - last week our storage unit was affected and the property didn’t even reach out to us, we found out because our items were displaced throughout the basement and our storage unit was pryed open. Their nonchalant “solution” was to store our things in our apartment. Going on 3 years of nonstop loud construction, with random contract workers coming in and out of the building at all times. No elevator, no in-unit washer/dryer and outdated, deteriorating lobbies where it’s not uncommon to have to step over nails and other debris left by construction workers - and we paid $3.5k per mo. in rent for this! I've lived at Forest Court for the past three years and have been very satisfied. The apartments are modern, clean, and well-maintained, in a quiet community. Any maintenance requests are handled quickly and efficiently.
