Florence County Tax Assessor

It is quite frustrating that I am unable to pay my property taxes by credit or debit card at my local office. Additionally, the county charges nearly $16 for online payment processing. This raises the question: who benefits from these fees? It certainly does not seem to serve the interests of the citizens. I am now inconvenienced, having to visit my bank to obtain cash or a check, or alternatively pay additional fees to the county just to settle the bill. I would like to understand where that $16 fee goes—please do not cite the card processing company as the reason. If I can make purchases at Walmart without such fees, why is it not possible to pay the government in a similar manner? This situation seems quite unreasonable.

Very nice staff but the cost of plating our personal pickup truck was outrageous. You were taxed at the higher 10% making it $1200/year to a 2018 Dodge Dually. When we consider buying our next house will be looking out of Florence county.

The map is ok. But the county's website in my opinion needs a great deal of improvements. Their online services sucks since you cannot conduct business in person due covid-19.

Basically if these ppl mess up they do nothing to fix the problem. You just have to wait till the problem resolves itself. If i could give no stars i would.
