My experience with Everstar Realty Management was fine while living there but after moving out I felt completely scammed by their shady business practices. I paid a $2500 deposit including a $250 non refundable carpet cleaning fee but was still charged again for carpet cleaning even though the carpets were in good condition with no stains or damage (EverStar found a way to keep $2100). I was also billed for removing gardening beds that were there before I moved in (Athough I dont know if they belonged to the owners or a previous tenant) which I believe was highly unfair. I had 12 trash bags and a rug scheduled for city pickup but Waste Management could only pick up after my lease ended unfortunately and due to HOA rules I moved them back onto the property. My move-in experience with this property management company started off great, but things went downhill after that. I didn’t put in many maintenance requests, but the few I did were either ignored or dragged out for months. One request in particular (electrical — thankfully I have the knowledge to handle it myself) has been pending since April and is still marked as open to this day. Despite following up multiple times, nothing was ever done about it. When I asked about it, Brenda, the previous property manager, told me, ‘I called the landscapers, I don’t know what else I’m supposed to do.’ That kind of attitude summed up my experience — minimal effort, no accountability, and no real follow-through. We could not have asked for a better property manager than Brenda. Being new to the rental business, she explained everything to us and made everything simple and clear. She thinks of everything so I don’t have to. Her professionalism and her team working with her is top-notch. I don’t know how else to put it. She also provides so many resources for things that I may not want to do or be able to as a homeowner like blowing out the underground sprinklers, etc. She has taken the pressure away from me as a homeowner renting a home. With so many new laws and regulations it’s so easy to get yourself in trouble unknowingly. Brenda knows all the ins and outs The laws and regulationsand I am so confident with her. Don’t rent through this company they are horrible. Brenda Anderson and Joanna Taylor are the worst people to work with. They suck at communication and they will do anything to try and keep your deposit. Then they will charge you for stuff that didn’t need to be charged. (Like cleaning Fees after you’ve had professional cleaner come in and clean the place before you moved out). They kept my $2500 deposit and then charged me $2000 dollars on top of that for cleaning and repairs. House was in the same condition as when we first moved in. Then when I tried to dispute it they didn’t ever respond to me by phone or mail, but claimed that they did. Then sent the charges to collection. Will be getting an attorney and taking them to small claims court. Response to owner: There was no communication
