I moved into Empire Apartments in March 2025, thinking the place was fairly new and would be a solid one-year stay. Rent was $2,200, and based on past apartment experiences I budgeted an extra $100–$150 for water and sewer. Surprise! My very first bill showed me that here we all live in a beautiful commune where neighbors share each other’s bills — common electricity, gas, water, and even services nobody asked for like TV, internet, smart thermostat, valet trash, package lockers, a “technology fee,” and a mysterious third-party service fee. All this for the bargain price of about $400 extra every month. What a deal. The gym? Fantastic for making new friends — there are only enough machines and space for 3–4 people at a time, so you’ll always be waiting in line, bonding with strangers whil
