Dovertowne / Heritagetowne Apartments

I've lived here for almost 2 years now and am happy here. The buildings may be a little older and basic but they are maintained well. Everything is cleaned and repainted before move in. The people in the office I've dealt with are very friendly and helpful. So far I haven't had to request any maintenence or repairs. Neighbors are civil and everyone keeps to themselves. The only thing I will say is the humidity is very high in the buildings. The first thing I bought after moving in was a dehumidifier. I keep that running constantly and need to empty it every 2-3 days.

The apartment staff is extremely nice and are very willing to work with you but the actual apartments themselves are deplorable. They have a SERIOUS mold problem and almost nothing works properly. We lived there for 4 years and our shower never once drained correctly, over half of our outlets didn’t work (one literally leaked water out of it) and the windows are terribly leaky and create a lot of mold themselves. After the 5th time of asking to have our tub fixed we stopped asking maintenance to come out at all. It would drain for a day and then be clogged again, when they came out about the outlets they said they didn’t know what was wrong with them and never bothered to come back and try to figure it out.

You gotta love a property management company that repaints and recarpets their units after every tenant - except they use your entire security deposit to do so. As if they don’t make enough money off of their tenants, they also have to strip you of every last cent you gave them when you decide to move out. If you want to owe money for normal wear and tear on an apartment, then this is the right place for YOU. These companies are all the same. If you can, rent from PEOPLE not CORPORATIONS.

Maintenance service requests have been easy to put in via resident portal. Maintenance office and on site maintenance have been fast and attentive. We are new residents and the maintenance needed has been minor things. Leasing office staff is also fast and attentive and a pleasure doing business with. We are very happy in our apartment to say the least.

Lived here almost 20 years ago and we were pretty satisfied overall with owners and their maintenance. A few minor discrepancies but while we were there for several years the rent did seem to keep going up every year and significantly. That was honestly the only reason we moved. Size and lack of property upkeep (at that time) made it unjustifiablely unaffordable. I do want to say the units look like some nice updates were done since and whomever stages/photographs the interior of the apartments does amazing work. 👏
