Their apartment complexes don't follow the law, specifically RCW 59.18.255 I was denied a lease for an apartment because they refused to include my 401k retirement income. They stated that they don’t include this form of income until someone is of the “legal retirement age” of 67. Firstly, there is no LEGAL RETIEREMENT AGE. Secondly, from my reading of RCW 59.18.255 it is illegal to discriminate based on where income comes from, including retirement accounts.
Our lease ended earlier this year (March) with Plateau176. Our deposit check failed to deliver and we never got it. Despite our coordination efforts with the Plateau176 property manager Melanie and staff, who have been very helpful, DMCI has held our deposit hostage. Melanie updated us back in June that DMCI confirmed that our check was not cashed and that they would resend a new check to our new home. It is now August 1st, we still haven't received our check, and even Melanie can't get an answer to us from management. How difficult is it to reissue a deposit check? In July, we also called DMCI who instantly told us to just email them with the details instead of trying to figure it out for us, but that email has also fallen on deaf ears. I received 4 emails about selecting a lease renewal option. I selected an option and never heard back. I've since emailed 6 times and cc'd DMCI. No response. My property manager has now been changed a second time in the last month. No one is ever in the office. In their terms, if no option was selected it stated $250 would be added to my rent. Unfortunately, I cannot prepare a lease myself and it's due April 10th 2025, I have contacted this office multiple times so please understand, I'm not paying the additional fee. I'll be filing a complaint with the BBB and HUD. The initial move in process was ridiculous because the office had a hard time communicating necessary elements needed. I contacted the main office at DMCI and was told to email, I did. I called to follow up and whoever I spoke
Think twice before you decide to rent one of their apartment communities. Trellis point don't answer their phone for the entire day and another day when I called I didn't get a return call either. How do they expect to rent any of their apartments if they're not taking calls or returning voicemail calls.
Meh, we've had 3 different managers at my complex in the 3 years I've been here and 3 different repair people. High turnover seems to be the name of the game here.
