District Square Apartments

My daughter has lived here for 4 months(student at VCU) and has had 3 packages stolen during that time. Whether it’s Amazon or usps, within an hour of delivery the packages are gone. She has reached out to the leasing office and was pretty much told sorry nothing we can do. It’s unacceptable. There are package lockers that are never used. Maybe add some cameras? Rent isn’t expensive but it isn’t cheap either. As much as as she likes the apartment, this will not be a lease we re sign. Apartment is gorgeous and it’s located in a great area but the amount of mail theft is unacceptable.

I had a delightful time touring the apartments recently. Leasing agent griffin had lots of enthusiasm and his positive energy made the tour fun and exciting. Will definitely be living here!

I have been living here for a year and have enjoyed some of my time here. I enjoy my apartment and the price isn't horrible for what you get. The maintenance team is very kind and are typically good on time. However, every single time I order any packages they get stolen. Many other tenets experience this as well as you can tell from the reviews and from the notes you see all over the apartment of people pleading for their items to be returned. I have anxiety when ordering anything here and feel like I have to race to get my belongings the minute they're delivered or they'll be stolen. My roommates package was stolen 6 minutes after delivery. The leasing office has done nothing to solve this issue after the year I have been here. I lived here for about a year. I had issues with the maintenance man that serviced my apartment request. He discriminated against me because I was on section 8 and refused to fix my washer and dryer and my stove. He blamed me for what was wrong with the apartment. He did fix my stove key pad but refused to fix my washer and dryer. He told me he was not going to fix my washer and dryer. The washing machine gray rubber was molded and had a smell and had the nerve to tell me to go buy $20 mold cleaner and clean it and he said the dryer works it just don't heat up to dry clothes and it was missing a part. I’ve lived at district square for over a year & have had almost every single package delivered to me, stolen. Thousands of dollars worth of items, at this point, that are gone within seconds of being delivered. I have been told countless times the package delivery station should be up and running soon, of course, it still isn’t. Most recently, & the reason for me being fed up enough to write a review, I had medication stolen less than 5 minutes after receiving a notification that it was delivered. For paying nearly $2,000 a month in rent, you would think residents wouldn’t have to worry about guarding the “mail room” (it’s just a front entry way with lockers) waiting for their package to arrive. District square does not care about their residents. Please save yourself the trouble and look
