Delancey at Shirlington Village

I lived at Delancey for three years and truly enjoyed my experience. Karen and Betania from the property management office were consistently helpful, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. The building was clean, well-maintained, and the staff was always accommodating. My favorite part of the apartments were that they were smart homes with keyless entry. The only downside was the garage parking—when I lived there it was optional, but it’s now a paid amenity. The location is fantastic, with restaurants, shops, bars, and a Harris Teeter nearby. It’s easily one of my favorite places I’ve lived.

I have lived at the Delancey for over a year now. The building has the most polite and kind employees. Douglas, Betania, and Karen go above and beyond to ensure the residents (and their pets) are happy! The buildings is always clean. Renewed my lease for a second year.

Just completed a year living at Delancey in Shirlington. I love it. Quiet, Clean, everyone is very nice from management to maintenance! Can't beat the location too! Walk out your door and you have the village of Shirlington with all the restaurants to try and the best part is having Harris Teeter right next door.

All apartment buildings have their quirks, and Delancey is no different. While I’ve been overall pleased with my experience, there have been a few bumps in the road I wish I’d known about before moving in. First, getting in and out can be a hassle. The parking garage is shared by the Harris Teeter below (warning: it’s not owned by Delancey and so it is VERY expensive) and cars tend to fly around corners. Second, some of the units have not been refinished, and the appliances could use some TLC. Don’t expect top of the line if you’re moving into an older unit. Finally, if you’re in a corner unit, the walls feel thin and poorly insulated. In the winter, you’ll feel the cold and hear the wind like you’re standing outside. My wife and I have lived at the Delancey for a few months and we’ve had wonderful experiences with the Building’s leading folks, Karen and Betania. They’ve bent over backwards to help us with several things ranging from parking changes to construction scheduling shifts and have always been warm, welcoming, and friendly
