Great folks to work with on building a house! This is our second build with David James. Only reason we left first house is to downsize! All contractors easy to work with, communicated well, worked hard and did a wonderful job! Time and cost were as discussed beforehand. David is honest, reliable and helped with decisions. We love our house and highly recommend David James and his crew!

Upon a recommendation from a friend who used David James to build his beach house on Fig 8, we hired David to do an extensive addition and significant modification to our existing home. With Brad as lead, the work was seamless, on time and on budget. A few years later, after using another contractor to deal with some issues and realizing the work had been done so poorly that we called David again and he sent Casey who realized immediately what had to be done and even during the pandemic managed to keep things on an even keel. Communication with the client is such a strong point with this company. With as much maintenance as most beach homes need, we are grateful to have a reliable and knowledgeable source like David and his crews.

I have had the pleasure of working with David James and his team on quite a few projects over the years. As an architect, I appreciate their attention to detail, excellent communication and focus on providing quality homes. Two projects in particular were major renovations with challenging structural interventions to the existing homes. The team did not hesitate to tackle these challenging projects and reached out to me when things came up to ensure the structure was properly supported and the design intent was maintained. On other projects the team was instrumental in providing accurate cost estimates that allowed the design team to make changes as needed to ensure the project met the client's budget. I have lived in Wilmington for forty years and have remodeled many homes and rental properties. David James is a complete dream to work with. David holds a degree in engineering which I value. He solves pre existing problems that an average person would never see. His crew is always on time and very professional. Our hurricane seasons have been exceptionally active over the past few years and he has still managed to stay on track for my projects. His wife also works for the company. She has great taste so it is like having a built in interior decorator thrown in also. They both know the current styles so it is stress free to make all those painful decisions in new build or remodeling!

I really like how Brad, his team manager, pays attention to details. They have always been responsive to our needs if something needs to get done or corrected.
