Cottages at Depot Park

I wouldn't recommend moving in here. They have plans to demolish and rebuild the property in the coming year. Because of this, I would not expect them to maintain your apartment or the property. They plan on completely mowing it down. I lived here for 4 years, and I would have stayed for years to come if the previous landlord did not sell the property to out-of-town investors. If you want to reach the owners, you cannot reach them. You need to talk to a property management company which manages dozens of properties around Gainesville, thus having no bandwidth to pay proper attention to this property. DONT MOVE HERE Place got sold a few months ago and the new owners are completely incompetent. The main draw of this place was it's cheap rent, you got what you paid for but at least the previous owners were responsive. The new owners plan to make it way more expensive while making everything else worse. There's no office manager on site (good luck getting to see a crappy unit before moving in!!), there's been terrible misleading communication about leases or updates and they have no idea about the market in Gainesville because they have NO local staff. They kept the maintenance guys and they're awesome and the hardest working people here but the units are very old and in rough shape, water damage and mold are present in a lot of units. Only if you want ROACHES for roommates. Management stopped paying for exterminator services. The buildings are old and the walls are wood paneling with little gaps between the wood and at the baseboards so roaches travel between apartments. They are in the kitchen or bathroom almost every morning. I am ashamed to have guests over because I don't want people to see roaches, but if you know about German roaches, you know there is almost no way to get rid of them for good.

CROOKS -- zero stars -- do not rent from this place.. they took my daughter for her security deposit when she did not even rent the place .. my daughter cancelled LEASE prior to occupancy and they said no $1k sec deposit back.. now she is out the sec dep and over $400 in small claims court fees.. After receiving the court case, they then retracted the 0.00 sec dep and said she could get back about 700.00 which was contested. In court mediation, they offered $500 and she took it (less than what they previously offered) as she is still out the 1k sec dep as the $500 only covers her court costs. They took my daughter for more than they offered her after Landlands rec'd court case & retracted some of sec dep. The landlords are pure & simple crooks... the security deposit represented the bulk

I really enjoyed living here! The apartments are older and I loved it! Extremely affordable and maintenance came really quickly if there were any problems. Neighbors were lovely also!
