When I moved in nearly two years ago, the spacious two-bedroom unit and excellent storage impressed me. Most of all, the property manager, Dena, provided five-star service that truly made the place feel like home. However, after the retirement of longtime owner Sam Coryell Sr., the management philosophy changed dramatically. Rent spiked, maintenance & amenities declined, and once-beautiful landscaping was left to die. The sense of care and community quickly disappeared. Though advertised as a 55+ community, with plenty of senior applicants, vacancies are increasingly filled with younger individuals, with the expected results. I have lived here 7 years and absolutely love it. Dena is a wonderful manager who genuinely cares about us, and all the staff are friendly and helpful. We are very spoiled here! Maintenance issues are handled immediately and efficiently. It is quiet and peaceful, and we are a real community. We have so many amenities such as fitness center, pool and hot tub. There are many scheduled events such as meals, games, art classes, etc. There is even a free shuttle bus and monthly schedule of fun trips, along with regular trips to grocery stores, etc. There is even a dog park for our furry friends. Best of all for me, the entire property is non-smoking (much appreciated because of my serious allergies). I highly recommend Coryell Commons. I appreciate the security features that we have. Secured entry and 24hr on call security. Maintenance is always responsive to my requests in a timely manner. Dena Applegate, our manager is a pleasure to interact with. She is friendly and helpful anytime I have interacted with her. I have been a resident at Coryell Commons for 8 years and looking forward to many more years.

We’ve lived here for a few months and we like it so far. However, we were disappointed the pool is not heated. I complained to management and apparently they only turn the heater on once or twice per year. TLC should inform prospective tenants that the pool is freezing cold 90% of the time. The property is nice and the community manager is pleasant. We were just hoping to enjoy the pool more often.
