Cortland on Pike

I've already left a review from the time that Pernisia graciously helped lease into my apartment. But I just wanted to leave one more in appreciation for all that the office does! What they do is not easy, and I really appreciate their thoughtfulness towards residents. The office has always been there to support through personal crises, outages impacting work, and you name it. You guys absolutely rock and are a very capable team making us feel well-taken care of.

If you are planning to move into this apartment, be prepared to add cockroaches as another member of your household. When we first moved in, the management told us that the unit was fully renovated and one of the “best units.” However, we quickly realized that most of the furniture and cabinets were not replaced at all — they were just painted over. Behind those old cabinets and tiny gaps are serious cockroach nests. When we reported the issue and asked if we could move to another unit, the management laughed at us and said that if they moved us, we would just bring the cockroaches to the new unit. That response was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. We constantly clean, seal gaps, and try to keep everything closed, but every night when we turn on the kitchen lights, cockroache

Do not move here! This property has been through Bozzuto (which was the best), Elme and now Cortland! I repeat do not waste your time or money here unless you wish to get your car towed, add on fees, and unresponsive communication. The amenities are trash, the condition of the property has deteriorated over the years. The elevators always break down!!! There is absolutely NO PARKING anywhere even with a parking decal. This is a tenant is always wrong and property management always right environment. By the way there is also an amenities charge every year. The gym may look clean but many of the equipment are dated or do not work. Stay away and find a better property in Arlington. The property also charges you for a terrible internet service on a monthly basis.

Dec 25 edit - new management seems to be no different.... They keep adding fees month on month. It's really amazing how quickly the rent has gone up over the past 2 years. I am a resident of Central building. The issues just keep getting worse. The latest thing they are forcing on us is internet that doesn't even cover the entire apartment. They keep sending people who come, look at the issue, but don't fix it.. Their renewal process is very unfriendly and we discovered so many fees. Elevators dont work often. Urine in the stairwell sometimes. The heating units also shoot up so much dust.

Living in this apartment has been an excellent experience! The staff, especially Pernesia Petite, are warm, proactive, and incredibly responsive — any issues I raised with her were resolved quickly and efficiently. The facilities are well-maintained, and the shuttle bus adds great convenience. The location is also ideal: bus A40 or A42 takes you to Pentagon City, and bus F44 goes directly to the Pentagon. Parking is hassle-free as well. Truly love this place!
