Corby Castle Apartments

I'm currently a resident on the first floor. Within a 3 week period my unit was flooded twice with sewage. Upstairs residents are flushing garbage down their toilets, which clogs up the main drain. Over 6 units on first floor were affected. There are cockroaches everywhere, even though I keep my space clean. I've had mice chewing through my walls. Neighbors blasting music, fighting and yelling up and down the halls after midnight. The maintenance contact number never answers nor responds to emergencies. I could keep going and going, but do you need any more of reason to avoid this place? I have no idea why the city hasn't condemned this building.

They not only have cockroaches everywhere, but they also have black mold in their buildings. They cover it up and then tell you that there is no mold. Numerous residents have mentioned having mold in their units as well. And when you ask them to address it, they ignore you and only want their money from you. They will also raise the rent on you an outrageous amount for absolutely no reason every year your there. They don’t take care of the property, and the homeless are all in and out of the buildings and garages. If you like mold and cockroaches, then by all means, live here. But if you value your health, don’t rent from these people. If it would let me post pictures on the review I would.

I am currently living in Corby Castle. Usually I wait until I move out of a building to leave my review. However, I already have enough information to tell you everything you need to know. The units have a decent amount of space for the price. It's also close to 680 if you need to get on the interstate quickly. Consistent with other recent reviews you'll see here, I also have roaches in my unit, no matter how tidy I keep the kitchen. According to the staff, there are a total of two maintenance workers across five complexes they own, leaving you with an average of 0.4 staff members to maintain your Corby Castle unit. To the owner of the property, unfortunately when I moved into the property, nobody told me my apartment already had roaches. They did say they sprayed monthly for bugs, but never once was told I’d be moving into a property filled with roaches. And your office manager is not doing your business any justice. When i applied I asked to see the apartment before, and she told me I couldn’t. The only reason I took it was because I was in a huge situation and had no choice, but after moving in, it was not what I was expecting at all, your office manager is super unprofessional and there is no talking with her. When speaking with a representative of this complex, I was extremely unsettled by the customer service and human relations that I received. The voice tone and vocabulary used by a woman in their office was very unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to do business with this company. The back and forth communication has been counter productive and ultimately escalated the situation. Their behavior has been tyrannical and needs to be addressed. My close friend of many years with a mental disability has just moved in to an apartment at their property. She has been in shambles since. She has not received a key to her mail box nor has she received the proper treatment as a tenant. I plan to investigate this company further for past civil right and tenant violations.
