Common Classon

I rented at Common Classon (in Brooklyn) in 2023. It was a bait-and-switch where they make upfront commitments to get you to sign the lease, and change it up once you start living there. My reflections below: Leasing: I should've been a bit suspicious when I wasn't allowed to tour the place physically "because of COVID" (in 2023). The agent walked me through their website (no videos / actual photos) and made promises like how I'd have double-paned windows that helped with temperature and noise insulation (false). You don't get to feel the vibe of the building, check to see if the walls between rooms are thin (they are), or check the cleanliness and size of the space (they don't publish dimensions online). As another user has expressed, Common has the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced with a leasing company. Expect zero communication from them when they make an error and overcharge you. Their management office doesn’t have a direct line and can take months to respond to urgent emails. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM! You will overpay for rent, be charged for damages you didn’t incur, never receive the promised monthly supplies, receive your security deposit months late (if ever), be lied to on rental prices, and they are impossible to get ahold of in times of need.

They no longer provide monthly cleaning services even though they continue to advertise it.
