If you’re looking for a place to live freely and enjoy your home—look elsewhere. Colonial Estates Community operates more like a prison camp than a neighborhood. You can’t have certain chairs on your porch, your kids can’t have a toy outside, and you literally need permission to paint your own home. Want to tie your dog outside for a few minutes? That’s a violation. Forgot to immediately pick up dog waste? Another violation. They act like HOA overlords, but without the amenities or respect. My friend’s porch is completely bare—not by choice, but because management is aggressively micromanaging even minor personal belongings.
