As a Black man, I have felt targeted since day one living here. From the very beginning, leasing and maintenance accused me of running a “chop shop” out of my garage simply because I own multiple cars. Alicia, the front desk staff member, has made my life unnecessarily difficult — snooping around our loft with the maintenance worker, Chris. Now I am being charged over $1,000 for a false smoking violation — even though I don’t smoke in my apartment. Meanwhile, others openly grill with open flames on the roof and in the garage, which is a clear violation, and nothing is done about it. This place is just another fake boujee overpriced complex. It is appalling that in this day and age, such discrimination can occur openly in a community where residents are supposed to feel safe and respected. I am angry, hurt, and outraged—not just for myself, but for anyone who has ever been made to feel lesser because of their race.when the “workers” can control their micro aggressions then they might get somewhere. We have lived in the Chesterfield Lofts complex for the last 3 years and just signed on for another one! We absolutely love the way that the apartments look, how pet friendly the community is, the security of the building, and, of course, the excellent neighborhood! I definitely would recommend these apartments for anyone looking for some of the nicest apartments you can find in Springfield.

I rented an apartment here for 1 year. When I moved in, the dryer wasn't working. I called maintenance and they replaced my dryer after 2 months and several other requests. Even small maintenance requests would take weeks to get done. When I was moving out, the elevator was out of order and I lived on 3rd floor. I had to carry all my stuff on stairs. In my last month of rental they did not let me access my online portal. I could not review my moving-out notes to go fix if anything was needed. After 6 months they send me an email saying I owe them $100 for cleaning. When i reviewed the summary; I had 2 tiny spots on mirror and 1 spot on cabinet. Despite so many problems I had, they asked for a cleaning fee for such small issue. I could have easily cleaned those 3 spots if they hadn't taken

Overall a good place to live. Great manager. Just sucks that there aren’t many amenities (literally just the rooftop patio) and that as a tenant of 7 years going on 8 I’m now forced to pay the same rent as a new person who moves in.
