Chandler at University Tower Apartments

Just don’t sign here. Amenities are closed often, gates are constantly broken which takes away the “safety” of a gated community. And the package parcel locker broke on us multiple times while we had a package stuck in there until the office opened back up. Management and maintenance have no communication. We were also consistently told incorrect or conflicting information by management and leasing consultants multiple times making move out/general questions infinitely more difficult. Our unit had multiple cabinets that were off their track prior to move in, huge scratches in the flooring, rotting wood at the baseboards/door frames, water damage by the windows, and many roaches and bugs during the warmer months. I lived in this apartment for a little over a year and my experience was very positive. The place offers a comfortable atmosphere, a good location, and suitable conditions for an extended stay. I appreciate the team's kindness and willingness to help throughout my time there.

I have lived in this place for almost 5 years. Basically, sometimes comments on Google are from people who have had bad experiences, but this time I want to give an objective review of this place where I've lived for 5 years. When I first arrived, it was called Parc at University Tower, and the decoration style was a bit outdated. In the second year, the property management changed to Chandler. The renovation style improved a lot, and the renewed apartments are very comfortable to live in. The apartment has a gym, a dog park, and a swimming pool. I personally think the price is relatively cheap, offering great value for money. It's very close to Duke, just a 6-minute drive away. Frist, I want to say that most of my issues are with the upper management with this company. Starting my complaints is with the selection of applicants that apply. I have lived here for almost three years on a first-floor unit and I can understand noise from above. In Durham, NC there are times that some excess is permitted, but it mostly comes late in the evening and the Sherrif department has a lot of more important issues to deal with. That being said ... do not expect the current management to help with this. They have a continuous amount if residents moving out as soon as possible. to answer the question of why I have lived there for three years is because I work late hours and it is close by. Horrible experience. Never think about choosing this apartment. They will try their best to charge as much money as possible from you (believe me, they tried very hard) if you decide not to live there for an extra year. They are genius in finding "legal" but ridiculous reasons to charge you more money.
