Move in: May 2025. Would highly recommend Carter for the foundation and ICF walls of a home. Pros: Tall exterior doors; lots of outlets; placement of dedicated outlets for kilns; spray foam insulation; CAD lady saved $$. Carter's marketing states they build 'custom' homes. You get 2 exterior and 2 interior paint choices. The do not offer a designer. Our construction manager was Carter senior, but Carter junior took over after the wall construction. Carter was rarely on site and did not seem to have a good grasp on what our blueprints contained. The concrete work is horrible. The garage floor is uneven; we literally put levelers under our kilns, workbenches, and toolboxes. The door stoop is littered with paint droppings, chalk lines, divots, blisters, and laitance. Building a home can be an overwhelming experience. Carter Construction made that experience way less intimidating. Through their personalized service, their family owned business was able to walk my wife and I through each step of the process and WE LOVE OUR CUSTOM HOME!! Thank you Carter Construction!!

Please stay as far away from Carter Construction as possible. Their main focus is not on building dream homes - it is being Slum Lords to vulnerable college students. They are not known for living up to their promises or responsibilities. The entire Carter Family is entrenched in this deceit with Susan Carter being their ringleader. Please Please Please visit the Better Business Bureau's website to see listed complaints. This company has a reputation for taking deposits and payments but not performing the work.

I've obsevered family member's homes built by the Carter's as well as my employeer's sizable facility. My husband and I are just begining our home extension project with the Carter's and I know we couldn't be in better hands!
