I like my apartment, but I have experienced unpredictable behavior from the maintenance staff. On December 24th, two strangers opened the door and entered my apartment. When they realized I was inside, they ran away laughing instead of apologizing. I reported this incident to Shayne in maintenance, who became irate and claimed that the workers had mistakenly entered my apartment while trying to access the next building. However, that isn't my main concern. The real issue is that these two individuals did not knock before unlocking my door. Maintenance workers should always knock first, even if they have a key. This was not a flood. As a precaution, I suggest not keeping valuable items in these apartments.
I experienced a discriminatory policy during my visit to Cambridge Squares regarding my children on September 4, 2025. I had decided to rent an apartment there, and the agent agreed and asked me to apply as soon as possible. When I informed the agent that I have two young children, aged 3 and 2, he asked if my kids jump or run in the corridors or the unit. I explained that it's natural for a 3-year-old to be active, and it's difficult to prevent them from behaving like kids. The agent then told me that, due to this, my application would not be accepted because the residents living below might complain. He also mentioned that the unit might not be available within my desired timeframe. I found this super annoying and discriminating , even if I am a legal professional I didn’t want to escala
Avoid this place at all costs. This has to be the most unprofessional virtual team I’ve ever dealt with. I clearly expressed my interest in renting and even followed up with a detailed email, and what do I get? The same robotic, AI-generated message over and over again: “Just checking in to see if you’re still interested...” YES, I AM. But how about actually reading my emails and answering the questions I asked? Instead, they keep ignoring my replies and sending these useless templates like a broken record. Total disrespect for people’s time. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere!!This place clearly doesn’t know how to communicate with potential tenants.
I have lived at Cambridge Square now for over three years and can confidently say that I've been overall very pleased with my experience. The value for the downtown Bethesda area is really quite excellent. The property manager, Maureen, is very kind and always willing to answer any of my questions promptly. I've found the maintenance team very nice and quick to handle any issues that arise. The building itself is in pretty good shape, considering the age. They have done a decent job with upkeep, but some items show some real wear (tiles in bathroom/tub, paint on walls and in hallways, etc). However, I have to say that the pros have definitely outweighed the cons for me so far. This complex is a great value for what you pay.
Maureen and Shane are total gems and made living at Cambridge Square really enjoyable. Every time we needed something fixed, Shane was extremely responsive, left us hand-written notes with updates, and even gave us his phone number for a quicker response time. I loved that Maureen also lived on site and was always friendly and available during business hours. WC Smith is the property management company and their website was well set up. They even have a phone app, so it was extremely easy to set up autopay for rent, even when splitting with roommates. You can also use the app to request repairs. The property itself was well-managed, but definitely showed its age (built in the 50's). We had a few pests, but Shane always addressed it quickly. I enjoy living in no-frills garden-style apartm
