I’m writing this review to warn other renters and voucher holders about my experience with Brooklyn Group. I contacted Brooklyn Group regarding an available apartment and was in direct communication with an agent named Nancy B. At first, everything seemed normal and professional. She responded promptly and appeared interested in moving forward. However, the moment I disclosed that I would be using a housing voucher, her entire tone changed. She immediately switched up, stopped responding to my texts, and completely ghosted me. I was left with no explanation, no follow-up, and no professionalism whatsoever. Proceed with extreme caution when dealing with Brooklyn Group Realty. This review is based on multiple client experiences observed during housing advocacy. Clients report being drawn in by advertised listings with attractive rents, only to encounter different terms later in the application process. In several cases, clients were asked to provide upfront deposits labeled as “good faith deposits.” After payment, clients experienced significant delays, shifting requirements, and inconsistent information. When concerns were raised or clients attempted to withdraw, they were told the deposit could be forfeited. My review is based on my interaction and involvement with Nancy Berges, the agent, I dealt with. Nancy was very professional, patient with us, answered all of our questions, responded to our texts in a timely manner and was always willing to get on a call anytime we had questions and concerns. She tried her best to get us a better net effective rate for the unit we were looking at and vouch for us to building management. I highly recommend working with her as an agent when dealing wrong Brooklyn group.

If I could leave a negative star, I would. This real estate agency is very unprofessional and lacks basic communication skills. I called this agency several times for an update on my application after putting down a security deposit, and if I had not called the building management directly of the property we were to be moved into I would never have been informed that our application was actually denied and someone else moved into the apartment we were told was "taken off the market". The amount of times I had called about an update that information could have been relayed to me and a refund should have been issued immediately. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS AGENCY

My experience has been exceptional, and I am extremely grateful to Ahuva, the person who assisted me, who demonstrated a high level of professionalism and willingness to help me. This is my first time renting through this real estate agency, and I feel very grateful, as I have visited other places where I did not receive the same level of service. The person who assisted me was always available to answer my questions, even though I needed to return to inform them of new changes. They assisted me with the same professionalism. I am very grateful to this person who assisted me. Her name is Ahuva. I sincerely praise her, as she was a key factor in making my experience with a real estate agency so positive.
