Boney & Johnson Appraisers

I was given this appraisal company to use by the bank and thought all went well until he wrote up the appraisal and put a super inflated price on the boat slip that comes with the condo that I am buying and currently live in. When the bank saw the price on the boat slip it lowered the value of the condo by $25,000 and the amount I could borrow. I filed a rebuttal with the bank asking for another appraisal and provided proof that the boat slips are currently selling for $7,000-$10,000 but he would not change the $25,000 price and it cost me my loan. I now have to apply for another mortgage with a different lender, pay rent for Jan. and Feb., another appraisal and closing cost that the first bank was going to pay. In total this unprofessional and shoddy appraisal will cost me over $5,000. D

Hopefully you don't have the misfortune to be assigned these guys. 2 years ago, they nearly cost me our dream house, by pretending to be home inspectors, instead of appraisers. At the time of inspection, there were zero "mold assessors" on their payroll. However, one of their inspectors (George Kabase) chose to claim there was mold inside our prospective house! It shut the closing down, because the bank won't lend money on a home if there is mold. We had to pay TWO additional inspectors to go out and test the "mold", which was not. They also don't know the difference between dirt, and rot. I'm unaware if the guy who boggled his way thru our inspection is still on their payroll, but if so, I'd avoid these people at all costs.
