Whatever you do, do not rent with this company. They are pleasant in the beginning, like any other leasing company but when you need them most (urgent repairs, maintenance, questions, etc), they are unresponsive or slow to respond. Only when you involve 311 or other entities are they willing to actually help. I signed a lease with them in June 2021 and moved out May 31, 2022. Rent paid on time each and every month. According to THEIR leasing contract, I was supposed to receive my security deposit within 30-60 days. This is unlawful and according to state law, you are entitled to your security deposit within 14 days. They succeed in fraud by banking on the fact that most tenants are ignorant of tenants rights. I just recently moved into this apt and honestly it's a bit of a mess. I'm not sure if this is from B&H being unresponsive in the past or if it's the last tenants just being lazy and not notifying them of issues. So far in my 2 month experience B&H Management have been very swift in their responses and I really like their messaging platform to create "tickets" with apt issues. Apt design tho is really quite poor, fridge is way too small for a 5 bedroom apartment, one bathroom's sink is so small (like a NY bar's bathroom) that it is pretty non-functional as a bathroom to wash your face or brush your teeth in, there is zero storage in the apt except in personal bedrooms, cabinets really are not efficient (the doors lift up horizontally with little piston-type levers, all of which except one

Would give this property management 0 stars if I could. I vacated their unit on 8/31/2021 - never had any problems or made any late payments living in their apartment for 4 years. It’s been 60 days and they still have not returned my security deposit despite numerous emails and calls to their office. I’ve even submitted a complaint to the NY Office of Consumer Affairs and the Attorney General - not entirely sure how this will pan out. They do have well maintained units ( I was at 221 Himrod Street, which is one of their properties). But If you rent with them, consider your security deposit forfeit, and do whatever you want to their walls/floors/appliances is my suggestion. For reference, Lisa and Sarah were the people at their office who kept telling me the security deposit is “delayed.”

I rented from B&H Management for 2 years. For 2 YEARS I never paid my rent a day late. I moved out on 8/1/2021 and am still waiting for my security deposit, it is now 10/7/2021. It has been 90 DAYS since the walk through. They just say "we'll let you know". Well I KNOW that the check is supposed to sit in an escrow account until it is given back, I KNOW that a landlord has 30 days to return it before you can sue. I also KNOW that they rent out ILLEGAL basement units, which I will be telling the court. I've tried to be patient but this isn't right. It's DISGUSTING behavior.
