Benchmark Bank

If you are tired of dealing with megabanks and want to support local business this is a great community bank. They are headquartered at this location and you can tell. The people are always friendly and they do a great job making you feel like a person instead of an account number. They also have great loan rates and are able to do things big banks cannot do sometimes due to being a small business.

They judged me the moment I walked in—solely because of my race. As I entered, the entire room fell silent, and every eye turned toward me, as if they had never seen a Black person before. I asked if I could use their bathroom, and they told me they didn’t have one for the public. What a way to treat a potential customer. Well, I’m not a customer—and I never will be. Love this bank! Employees go above and beyond for their customers. Their online banking is super easy to navigate and offers endless functionality that makes banking so much more convenient. I love that when I call in, I get a human instead of a robot or going through an automated system. I would recommend this bank to friends and family.

I would avoid banking with this FI. There's no way to easily contact the bank outside of phone or in-person, and office hours are comically short with no weekend hours. So plan to take time off work any time you want to try addressing any issues. Online banking site is buggy with broken links and no option to order a replacement card (or report one lost/stolen). Reply to company message: I do not go TO the bank branch (see my review regarding terrible business hours/availability—you open after I start work and close before I get off). I have an account simply because this is the bank my employer chose to manage HSAs. I am trying (struggling) to transfer my balance elsewhere.
