Academy Properties

My wife and I have been renting with Academy Properties for about nine years. They have been helpful and easy to interact with. Maintenance issues are addressed in a reasonable amount of time. And while everyones rent across the country has been increasing at a rapid pace, ours has remained on the lower end of the increases compared to many around us. We found the right people to rent from!

Gary/Grace as I recall we had a very difficult time getting our contractors in to make any repairs to this property. We responded right away but the tenant was never available to allow the workers to get into the property to make the repairs. I'm really surprised that this person would write such a bad review as I personally did everything I could while I was with the company to make this property right. It was only a few months into the lease that the tenant moved out to purchase a house. Or so she said. While we had every right to go after her for the remaining money owed on the lease we did not. Why she took 2 years to write a review like this is beyond me, but people do weird things.

I've called twice & I don't remember the lady I spoke to but, every time I talked to her she was giving out false information or it just sounds as if she's making up stuff as she goes along. I called 2 days ago about a property. I call back today & now there's EXTRA fees. She told me I could call back at a certain time to speak with the owner of a particular property. I spoke to another woman who said that was not true at all. I felt like I was being scammed. this is why I call before I make decisions on touring the property or doing the application. Mind you, I also asked about requirements for their properties. What I was told today was not what I was told a few days ago. My experience was unsatisfactory & I will not rent with them at all.

Academy properties was not a bad property management company. They always had some one come out to look at repairs in a timely manor. They even extended our lease for a month when we asked. The issues I had were with the house itself. It’s a bit older but the walls were paper thin, it was very easily accessible to mice, and there were always ants no matter how clean things were. Also the pilot light was always going out on the heater. Again these are just issues with the house not the management company.

Gary and his team are great! They managed my rental property and made the process very easy. I didn't have to deal with tenants or worry about any issues. They were very attentive to any questions I had. I would definitely use them for any future rentals.
