1716 Lofts

I lived here just over two years after a stint in SF, and recently moved out to become homeowners. My wife and I were quite picky about where we wanted to rent. Amenities mattered less than quality of service and home finishes, and 1716 Lofts appeared to deliver on those. Luckily, our read was correct. The apartment was a pleasure to live in, in a great location. We initially planned to only stay 14 months, but renewed another year mainly because the service was so responsive, both from the management office and from the building staff. 1716's building maintenance manager Luis is the best we've had in over 20 years of renting all over the west coast. We stayed at 1716 Lofts for four months as part of a relocation. We rented a furnished apartment and everything worked out extremely well. The building is very well built and carefully maintained— we appreciated both aspects. And the location in the middle of Walnut Creek was convenient and fun. The furnishings in our (furnished) unit were also very complete and nice to use — like staying in a very nice AirBnB. We would certainly recommend the building to anyone considering either a short term or long term lease.

6 months later, Management still has not returned $350 of my security deposit. I recently moved out, cleaned the studio extremely thoroughly, detailed cleaned it, and they still deducted $350 from my security deposit. I am a very clean person to begin with and I clean very well and very thoroughly. I did windows inside and out removing screen and all. Detailed cleaned absolutely everything! It’s a studio! I cleaned for 5 hours straight. 1. Security deposit is for damages only and not to be used for general cleaning. 2. I listed everything that I cleaned, which was everything, and asked them what is it they are deducting the $350 for. I asked them to list. No response. Living at 1716 No Main was a pretty sweet deal! Location-wise, you couldn't ask for better. Walking distance to the heart of Walnut Creek meant endless dining options, shops, and entertainment. A short walk to BART as well. The maintenance crew were superheroes – always on point and lightning-fast whenever we had an issue. Major kudos to them. Inside, our apartment was up-to-date. Modern appliances, sleek finishes – they really nailed the contemporary vibe. The quiet interior courtyard was a gem. And that rooftop BBQ spot and hot tub? Hosting friends or just soaking in the tub with a view, it was top-notch. The ample indoor parking was a tad pricey, but definitely worth it. My wife and I relocated to the area and rented at the Lofts for 15 months while we searched for a home to purchase. We could not have had a better experience! Here's why we liked the Lofts so much: The staff is super friendly and responsive and they keep the property very well maintained and clean. The property is small enough to have a more personal, less corporate, feel. And in our 15 month experience, the residents were friendly and quiet. The Lofts has very well-designed common areas, including a peaceful courtyard and sweet rooftop scene (BBQ, hot tub, TV, pleasant sitting areas with great views) The property is newer and thus the units are more contemporary and fresher, with large windows and ample, cheerful sunlight.
