Cool place to live for the neighborhood, but you won’t ever be able to get in touch with anyone. The leasing office never responds to anything and most of the people in there have an attitude problem when asked to do anything.

I've lived at the Alta Vera Apartments going on 3 years now and for the most part it's been amazing. Beautiful building, great location, and my wife and I have had very few issues living here. The few problems we have encountered (general maintenance, payment portal, etc.) were handled by the Local by Laramar staff. Specifically, Heller in the Laramar office, is a delight and has helped us several times with a great attitude. For a while, it took forever to get maintenance concerns addressed, but recently it seems maintenance is much more well-staffed and responsive. 100% would recommend.

Good luck getting in touch with anyone in the office, by far the least responsive apartment I’ve lived in. I always pay rent on time and after switching Xcel accounts from my roommates name to mine they double charged us several months even after confirming with Xcel directly that we were the only ones to pay the electric for our apartment, Laramar did not pay them but was still charging us. I brought this up to the staff and after indicating they’d resolve it after sending the new account number they still left the charge on. After reaching out several times to have them remove the charge they continue to charge late fees and have not responded to me as a person. Instead they slapped a notice of eviction over a $130 electric bill that could be resolved if they’d simply answer the phone or

They have a dog on property that barks all day and into the night and just sits on the patio barking and barking. I cannot issue a complaint because I don't know their unit and no one answers the phone here so I can't figure it out. These people don't care. They refused to answer and instead texted me. Don't rent from them. It took them 5 years to fix the landscaping and they don't deal with the issues and problems they cause in the neighborhood.

I give the Alta Vera/Denver management (Laramar Co., based in Chicago) the lowest, most damning rating possible, and for many, very good reasons. My family and I were residents there for about a year and a half, and our dissatisfaction, and downright outrage at times, was shared by many of small building’s residents. We learned that, for instance, when the incompetent management people there once circulated an email that divulged the personal email addresses of all residents. This was a security breach by Laramar, but it allowed ALL residents to track the failures of management, and weigh in, as well, through group emails.
