This management group is terrible. We have had a broken garage for about 10 months this year, and all they do is try to gaslight the residents about why it’s broken. Now the front gate is broken, leading people to prop the door open since the fobs don’t open the door anymore. We also randomly had people enter our apartment without a warning just to leave the new air filter on the floor. They are terrible at communicating with residents and unable to accept responsibility for not doing the proper upkeep of the building.
Avoid this property. I dealt with repeated pest problems (mice, rats, birds, cockroaches) that were never properly resolved. Parking costs $125/month for a “secure” garage, but the garage door was broken and left open for months with no explanation or refund. Packages frequently went missing under the management of Natalia, including some that were marked as delivered to the leasing office but never given to me. The worst issue was moving out. Despite leaving my apartment in perfect condition, I was told there was “no record” of my security deposit — which is illegal under Maryland law. I had proof via a cashier’s check showing the deposit was cashed by management. Only after I sent certified mail and threatened legal action did they issue the full refund, weeks late and after initially
Warning– Think Twice Before Signing a Lease at 1212 East! This community used to be a hidden gem; great location, tight-knit neighbors, and decent value. While there were/are some ongoing issues (garage flooding, trash, mice, inconsistent communication with the office, and consistently faulty key fobs), things improved significantly when the company finally hired a solid and knowledgeable property manager, Natalia. She was quick to figure out how to resolve some of the ongoing issues, communication was reliable, and she seemed to care about the residents. Unfortunately, after a management change last year, things quickly went downhill and have not yet recovered, 1 year later. Despite being extremely patient through the transition, understaffing, and other inconvenient hiccups, we have con
I moved into 1212 East late February 2023. Shortly after moving in, I noticed the thermostat wasn’t responding and the apartment was cold. There was RARELY a property manager in the office, but the then leasing agent, Shelby, did everything she could to help me. The maintenance man basically lied to me (and Shelby) when he said it was just that I needed a new thermostat, when in fact, the system wasn’t even working! The fan was missing and according to him, it had been on order for quite awhile. I considered not paying my rent until it was resolved, but in the end I agreed to a perhaps too modest concession. At the same time, it became apparent that the bathroom tub and sink drains were CLOGGED. When someone came to fix them, GLOBS of hair were pulled out. Also, the carpet in the
Update: 7/22/2024 I was kindly asked to take down my review while management works on becoming fully staffed. It's good to see them acknowledge the understaffing issue, but it's unrealistic to expect immediate fixes. These changes will take time, and it wouldn't be fair for new residents to walk into this ongoing mess. Unfortunately, every neighbor I've talked to in the building is experiencing issues with the Leasing Office, so it's not just me. The problems range from poor communication and unresolved apartment issues to lease problems. Many residents are moving out because they're tired of dealing with these constant problems and the lack of response from management. Despite the increasing rent, basic amenities like the garage door, callbox, and key fobs are frequently out of order. A
